Final Project

These are the 3 pictures of my final project. My big idea of it is My Dream.

When I get the requirement of the final project, I tried to think put a word which can represent myself and show what kind of person I am. After 2 days’ thinking, I found “Dream” is quite suitable. Everybody has dreams during his whole life. Some dream may change and others may be still there for a whole life. So I think everyone’s dreams are unique. And I can use them to show myself. Before work, I determined to make 3 pictures of it. The first one is about the my dreams in my childhood. The second is about my dreams now. The last one is about my dreams in future. And I just decided to use 2 photos of myself in the picture and a character of an old man in the last one, which represents the dreams in youth and now and future.

When I began work on it. I found it really difficult to find a picture of myself when I was young, so I used a character of boy in my first picture, a photo of myself in the second one and a cartoon old man in the last one. The second thing I think is how to make the 3 pictures into a series. To make it, I tried several methods. The size I used in my picture is different, the first and last is longer than the second and lower than it, which means I am taller than I was young and I will be short again when I was very old. Another method is I use 3 small pictures, the first is a sunrise, the second is sunshine in the noon as a background and the last is a sunset. I used them because if we treat our life as one day, our childhood is like a sunrise, now is a noon, and a sunset when we are old. The last method I used is some same dreams, I put them in the same position, such as the computer. And the position of my body, these also make my pictures in a series.

When this project was finished, I always look at my pictures and have work on it again several times. I changed the position of some objects to make it more comfortable. I think now the 3 pictures have some connections and look like a series. The dreams in my picture can easily show what I like and how I think of things, so they can identify myself. So I think it achieves my goal to identify myself.

The big idea: Dreams
I want to have the big idea of dreams to be my big idea for my final project because i think it can identify myself. In everyone's life, dreams are very important. sometimes dreams can provide energy to person, so it is very important. In everyone's life, dreams may change from time. But all the dreams are different from people. So i use the dream to identify myself, they make me different.
To finish it, i think i can use three images to show it. I just think that we have different dreams from different period, so I want to show the dreams in my youth, now and when i'm old. in this 3 images i want to use my own picture in center and my dreams around it to show my dreams. I think these 3 picture will show all my dreams and show what kind of person i am.
The denotation is just my dreams while the connotation is using the dreams to show what kind of person of myself.
I'll use my pictures and the pictures of my dreams to make my project.

MP5

This is the picture of my MP5. the action word is hook. I use a tap and a tree to make a large hook which is connect to a big heart. the heart is hided in money and trees. I want to use this picture to ask more people's attention from money to our environment. The background is the Amazon Rain Forest, which is very important to our earth. I hope I can make more people to protect our environment instead of making money.

this is the picture of my MP4. the cartoon character i try to be is Doraemon and the background is my house. I choose this background and Doraemon because I hope I can be a Doraemon in my home. So I can get everything I want. Being Doraemon, i can go everywhere in a second. I can play with my friends or have a holiday with my family and then go back to my home to have class. Also, I can get everything I want without worrying about money. O(∩_∩)O~

These are my pictures for MP3. I take photos of oval as background because I like it very much. The grass and blue sky make me feel well. I put my clothes in the pictures and make several copies of it because I want to tell you that I'm full of energy when walk in the oval. Just like there are several of myself.



MP2

this is the picture I made for MP2. In the backgroud, i use the photo of my home to show where i live.then in the center, I put my computer and cellphone. They are so important in my daily because my life is full of imformation through them.around the computer and cellphone, I put 8 objects to identify myself. I just use them to show myself in learnning,entertainment and sports.they can show what I do everyday.

the objects I chose for MP2

In the Mp2, I chose 10 objects. My computer, the most important thing in my daily life, is chosen as the second life. The cup is chosen because I like drinking coka, so I need it very much. Then is the oven, which is very useful tool in kitchen. My basketball shoes are chosen because I like doing exercise and they can make me healthy. My touch and kindle are very important in my entertainment and study life. Cellphone is marked as ear, because I use it to hear from my friends. Lamp are the main tool in the night. and the printer is a power tool in learning.Router is used for internet,which is so importatn for me to chat with my friends .

micro project 1

The first 252 class is also the first class that i took in OSU. It was a different journey. I showed my way to the classroom in the picture below. To finish this picture, I used several ways.
First, I try to think the accordatura of it. It was a sunny day, so I chose a sunny day picture as the background. Then I copy the may from Google. to show the exact way, I used a blue line to sign it. I live in the university, so i took the UV shuttle to class. I put a picture of shuttle along the blue line to show that i took it to class. the shuttle stop is near the Ohio Stadium, which is marked by a picture,and the classroom is just in it. So i walked into it and met my professor.

This is the process of making the picture, I hope to show that I like it using the beautiful background and blue sky.

Evolution

Today, I went to the wexner center to watch the art. I was shocked by a picture called Evolution. It was drawn by Alexis rockman in 1992. This picture was oil on wood, as larger as 96X288 inches. In the picture, I was shocked by the content it shows. there are the scene will in future if we keep on damaging our earth. It can persuade us to protect our plant instead of writing words. people will be shocked by the exaggerate scene in his picture.

Self Introduction

Hello everyone, my name is Jiayi Liu. I'm a new transfer from China. Glad to meet everyone in the class 252. I'm a senior majoring in Mathematics in the college of Art and Science. I love this city as well as our university very much.

I have a lot of hobbies. Swimming is one of my favorite sports, I was in my school’s swimming team for 3 years when I was in junior high school. Basketball is also my favorite sport. I play it every week, and Tim Duncan is my favorite star in NBA. I like his character of calm and stable. Painting is my hobby too. I learnt drawing Chinese painting when I was in my primary school.

This is the first time to USA, so I have many difficult both in daily life and study because the difference of language. I want to make more friends to help me, and I can teach you Chinese if you want.
